I've been testing AV1 encoding for 4K gaming captures, and it's actually impressive how much space it saves without ruining quality. At around 50 Mbps, the codec handles fast motion and complex textures way better than H.264, and the file sizes are half the size of what I used to get. My GPU does struggle a bit with real-time encoding, but for recorded gameplay, it's a game-changer.
